Basic supplies needed for all classes: Ruler or tape measure, yarn needle (darning or tapestry needle), scissors, stitch markers, crochet hook size f, g, or h, pen or pencil, knitting notebook. Note: Please use bamboo needles whenever possible. Yarn should be light or medium in color in order to more easily see the stitches

Class Description: Knit a triangular shawl or scarf using the yarn of your choice. See the pattern at the desk. You will learn the basics of lace knitting and learn to go from reading the words to reading a chart.
Supplies: See pattern.

Supplies: Fiber Trends Marigold Bear pattern, yarn and needles as specified on pattern.

May 4 (Sun) Beginning Hat

Class Description: Learn to knit a simple hat using circular and double-pointed needles.
Supplies: 150 or so yards of the yarn of your choice and appropriate 16” circular and double-pointed needles.

Class Description: This class is designed to teach the basic knit stitch as the student learns to knit a simple scarf.
Supplies: To be purchased at the time of class.

May 16 (Sun) Beginning Hat

Class Description: Learn to knit a simple hat using circular and double-pointed needles.
Supplies: 150 or so yards of the yarn of your choice and appropriate 16” circular and double-pointed needles.
Skill Level: Beginner – must know how the knit stitch.
May 17 (S) Beaded Hat
10:00-1:00 $25
Class Description: This simple hat is spiced up with beads of your choice, inserted with a crochet hook as you knit. May be made for a child or an adult.
Supplies: 1-2 skeins of Baby Cashmerino, size 3 or 4 16” circular and double-pointed needles, 400 6/0 beads, crochet hook size 10 or smaller.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner – must know how to knit and purl.
May 17, 24 (S) Crochet Basics
1:30-3:30 $30
Class Description: Learn the basic crochet stitches while making little animals that will bring a smile to your face.
Supplies: Odds and ends of worsted weight yarn, crochet hook size G.
Skill Level: Absolute beginner.
May 21 (W) Details I

Class Description: Learn four different ways to cast on and three ways to bind off (including binding off with beads) and when to use each one.
Supplies: DK or worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles. This is a great time to use up leftovers.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner – must know how to knit and purl.
Homework: Please bring 3 swatches in stockinette st, 4x4” square, on the needles (ready to bind off).

Supplies: Each month you will need 130 yards of worsted weight yarn and size 8 or 9 needles. Manos, Encore, or Cascade are all recommended for this project.

Class Description: Learn to knit and purl, cast on, bind off, and read a simple pattern.
Supplies: 1 skein of Fantasy Naturale and size 8 needles.

Class Description: Learn basic neck-down sweater construction while knitting a simple baby sweater with no seams to sew when you are done.

Class Description: Conquer your fear (or dislike) of seaming. Learn to sew great seams, pick up stitches evenly, and add perfect buttonholes.

June 7 (S) Design Your Own Shell
1:00-4:00 $25
Class Description:Choose your own yarn and knit a shell to fit you by drafting your own pattern. Learn how to plan and knit an armhole that fits and a neckline that flatters.
Supplies: You will choose the yarn and needles that are appropriate and Knitting Pure and Simples Basic Shell pattern.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner – must know how to knit and purl.
June 11, 18 (W) Basic Sock

Class Description: Learn the basics of making a sock using worsted weight yarn and either double-pointed needles or 2 circular needles.
Supplies: 300 yards Worsted weight yarn, 1 set of double-pointed needles size 4 or 2 circular audi needles (one lace) size 4,

Class Description: Once you learn this basic pattern you can make it your own with patterns and color suitable for birth to 2 months.
Supplies: 200 yds dk weight yarn and size 3 and 4 double-pointed needles

Class Description: Learn how to cut your knitting without losing your stitches as applied to Norwegian sweaters and other garments.

June 21 (S) Modular Knitting

Class Description: Practice the concept of modular or domino knitting which may be applied to scarves, afghans, or other knitting projects. Class project will be a pillow top.
Supplies: 100 yds each of two different colors or 200 yds of self-striping yarn in worsted weight and size 8 needles.

June 21, 28 (S) Entrelac

Class Description: Learn and apply this technique to a scarf, shawl, blanket, or pillow.

Class Description: Emily Ocher’s beginning for knitting in the round from the center out, zippers, chart reading. Learn these and other odds and ends to make your knitting even more professional looking.
